Consider it a warm-up for primary election day.
The power of choosing favorites in the Sarasota-area theater scene is in your hands with a click of your mouse.
Voting for the 2008 Curtain Call Awards is now open at heraldtribune.com/curtaincall.
You will find this year’s ballot for our annual online theater poll. Just about every locally produced play and musical presented from Anna Maria to Port Charlotte has been included for your votes.
Herald-Tribune theater critic Jay Handelman has gone through all the programs and the reviews for a more limited list of roughly 15 to 20 candidates in the acting, directing and choreography categories. But you get to pick the winners. Simply cast a vote for your favorites.
There is a new category this year for “ensemble cast,” for actors in shows where everyone has a roughly equal part and everyone works together to make it memorable.
Also online, you can look back at the season with our photo gallery, capturing images of some of the best shows and performances from the past season.
Now go vote.
